- The Big Top Blastoff
-
- Sat Feb 12
- Locust Hill NC (East of Reidsville near NC 150 and US 158)
- Brought to us by the same fine folks who put on the H Blast.
- One night in-and out job under a heated 300-person circus tent. I've gotta say, I love a new paradigm and this appears to be one.
- Sol Flo, Big Daddy Love, The Brand New Life, Yesterday's Gravy.
- Did I mention this is a new paradigm? I'll hold off on an SST stamp until I see how it works, but H.M. and Wanda Crazy Hair Banana Pants did a great job at the H Blast.
- Groove In The Holler
-
- Apr 15-16
- 190 Sycamore Trail, Prospect Hill NC 27314 aka Possum Holler
- Actual Proof, Big Something, The Ends, Native Sway, Wax Planet
- It appears this is being put on by the people that control the venue. I have not yet attended a show they ran, but have worked with them at shows others ran, and I expect this will be well done. I won't put an SST stamp on it until I've seen them do one, but I think they've learned a lot (good and bad) from the people who have put on shows there before.
- Spring Shakori Hills
-
- Apr 21-24
- Silk Hope NC (Outside of Siler City)
- No artists yet
- SST and highly reccomended.
- Smilefest Reunion 2011
-
- Jun 3-5
- Jomeokee Campground, Pinnacle NC
- Railroad Earth, JJ Grey and Mofro, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, New Mastersounds, Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, Melvin Seals and JGB, Pimps Of Joytime, John Browns Body, Danny Barnes, Sol Driven Train, Sanders/Cardine/Pond, Shane Pruitt Band, Ralph Roddenberry Band, Jackass Flats, Nora Jane Struthers, Sanctum Sully, Lizzy Ross Band, Doby. More to come.
- This is my home festival and my family. SST

This is hardly meant to be a comprehensive list of shows in the area. I am often the last to know what's going on. Here are some I do know about. Keep in mind that I intend this as a service to my listening audience in the Triad. Out of town shows listed are generally those that interest me and are not coming to the Triad.

- Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band @ Blind Tiger
- drummer working today (and a tie for nicest world-class musician I've ever met along with Vasser Clements), Jeff Sipe. Bruce Hampton (Ret.), Oteil "The Egyptian" Burbridge, now bassist for The Allman Brothers Band, and Jimmy Herring, now lead guitarist for Widespread Panic. And, seriously, Sipe may be the best musician of them all.
